Always Be Kind

Always Be Kind Small and Simple Help for Mental Health is a IRS 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization providing essential recreation equipment and supplies for psychiatric hospital patients in African countries. All donations are used to purchase these items in the recipient country to help support growing economies.

What We Do

Recreation therapy is an evidence-based approach to mental health treatment. We supply African psychiatric hospitals that often lack essential supplies for recreation activities. Activity equals better mental health. The last to be taken care of in every society are the severely mentally ill.

100% of donations go to the purchase of recreation supplies within the recipient country. This supports local growing economies. Administration fees are privately financed so all donations are entirely directed towards intended goal: recreation supplies and equipment. Please consider ‘Always Be Kind Small and Simple Help for Mental Health’ as your 501(c)(3) charity donation.

Community-Led Investment

We prioritize local economic impact by spending within the country and actively listening to community needs. Our approach ensures resources flow directly to where they’re needed most, building trust and sustainable growth alongside mental health support.

Culturally Responsive Care

We design our programs to honor and reflect the cultural context of the communities we serve. This means adapting our methods, messaging, and delivery to resonate authentically with local traditions, values, and lived experiences.

Accessible Pathways to Expression

We provide mental health resources and outlets that are otherwise inaccessible, including creative opportunities through art and sports. These channels offer safe spaces for self-expression, healing, and connection for those who need them most.
